I am Yumiya, who was appointed to IEMV in April 2024. Prior to my appointment here, I’ve spent 30 years at IHI, IHIMU, and JMU in Japan, for mainly involving in machinery outfitting and general coordination work for commercial ship designs. IEMV will celebrate its 18th anniversary in June 2024. I feel that the staff are talented, diligent, and passionate about their work. Everyone from the mid-career to the younger generation is working together to improve the shipbuilding industry and is full of spirit to create the future of IEMV. It is my mission and pleasure to work with them so as to meet the expectations of our customers. If you have any questions regarding design, please feel free to contact us.
Hello everyone. I have been with IEMV since the very first days of its establishment in June 2007. Since then, I found myself seasoned with hands- on experience. Currently, I am in charge of the Machinery & Electric Group which consists 2 separate teams namely: Machinery and Electricity. There are 16 energetic staffs in this group and our primary task is to design machinery equipment and electric systems on board.
Figuratively speaking, IEMV is liken to a common house, where every member is united, full of enthusiasm and dedication that is why I am always happy to work here. In addition, we have built a working culture based on Japanese quintessence, professionalism, creativity and efficiency bringing satisfaction to customers indeed. At the same time, we possess and maintain Vietnamese core values such as; spirituality, diligence and willingness to be challenged. Our goal is to make unceasing efforts to improve the level of design, product quality and our commitment to meet all customers’ demands.
IEMV employees will have the opportunity to be trained and become specialist as long as they demonstrate their competency and determination, not only here in Vietnam but also in Japan. Since IEMV is involved in large shipbuilding projects such as Bulk carrier, VLCC, LNG carrier, container ship etc., Thereby, constant improvement of each one’s design ability is a challenge to attain world's leading level.
Besides being the head of the M&E group, I am also the leader of the machinery team. There are 11 members in this team. The main responsibility of this team is to design systems and equipment in the ship’s engine room. As a saying goes, “the engine room is like the heart of the ship”, it supplies power to all other areas and helps the ship maneuvering system. While the job is primarily related to complex piping and machinery equipment, it is therefore interesting to explore great deal of entities. All team members understand and act in accordance with the team's common strategy. “Working with high skills based on the sense of discipline and responsibility in order to satisfy customer`s requirements.”
Hello every one,
I am Chung – Team Leader of Electric Team. I’ve become a member of IEMV since 2014.
Now, Electric Team has 5 members.
As you know, nowadays, in modern society, Electricity/ Electronics are an indispensable part of life. And by their existence, machine is able to run faster, more accurate and more modern. The same goes for ships, electricity and electronics play an extremely important role in the operating a ship. Along with the establishment and development of IEMV, our electrical team members have achieved many fruitful jobs and accumulated lots of experience under the guidance and cooperation of leading Japanese experts. Up to now, we have received many electrical design orders for all areas on the whole ship (Engine room, Accomodation and deck parts). With technology’s changes in emission treatment and onboard equipment, electrical design also needs to be gradually improved and changed to meet all customer needs.
Becoming an engineer designing important components (such as electricity) on an extremely large and complex sector like a ship, we feel extremely proud of works to be done.
Working together with the vibrant and enthusiastic young members of the electrical team, we will strive to create the best products for customers so as to contribute and build IEMV to become stronger.
Hi there, I have been working for IEMV since 2009. Honestly, IEMV has a great working environment that we always consider to be a family. Plus showing our great degree of ability will give us opportunity to be trained in Viet Nam and abroad, for us to become more competent.
Outfitting team currently has 9 members. Our mission is to design the layout of piping systems and equipment in all over the ship except for the engine room. This is a large area and directly affect to safety and workability of ship operation. So it always requires high technical skill and knowledge.
Our motto is ``Putting the interests of our customers is the core requirement of our duty``. We always work based on these core values: challenge, honesty, united, discipline and responsibility all for the sake of our customers.
Hello everyone!
Honestly, I never dreamed of working for a ship design company. In fact, right after I graduated from a university with a degree in Mechatronic, I was hired at IEMV. At first, I faced many difficulties and challenges which is normal to every first timers. However, IEMV gave me a lot of opportunity to learn shipbuilding technologies and software, since then I gradually learned a lot at IEMV. It has been more 13 years now and I felt myself more and more passionate on ship designs.
With regards to the HC group, our group now has 24 members (9 women and 15men) to be exact. They are young and zealous in working. We are proud of being energetic, eager to learn new things and have the sense of responsibility. In our group, younger staff source out knowledge, technical skill and experience from other members, while they influence the older ones with their diligence and passion. We call our group not a team, but a family.
As per information, HC group has 2 teams, one is the Detail Design team and the other the 3D CAD team. We contribute to The Hull structure jobs for JMU group and other shipbuilding and design companies. As IEMV philosophy, “we always bring the best of our product to our customers,” all members are aware of the fact that, to get customer‘s trust; promptness and quality excellence are the key elements of our service.
Our team comprises of 20 members now. We contribute to the the Hull production design jobs for JMU group and other shipbuilding and design companies. The main product of 3D CAD team are part data (which data is transferred to nesting) and 3D models of ship. Our strengths are youthful, power, eager to learn, sense of responsibility and mentally challenged. My team are also equipped with exceptional ability to operate various software such as; Grade hull, Aveva Marine, Napa steel, CATIA, SolidWorks, Raku Raku CAD software to name a few.
We are a production design team, thus we are always reminded that “we spend 1 minute to repair, so as to work shop.” Keeping up to our our target that is to bring the best service to our customers through quality and punctuality
We hope to contribute more design ideas and innovations for customers and prospects not just locally but internationally.
After 13 years of establishment and growth, IEMV has been changing many things in positive way. I am one of the members who witnessed those changes since the company was founded in 2007. At the beginning, some of the staff were fresh graduates and the company had only 9 members so to speak. Yet, the design capacity was actually limited. Subsequently, we focused on trainings to improve our skills for future design works. Nowadays, IEMV has been improving productivity, quality and continue devoting to customers the most valuable things.
With a continuing momentum of the company, Detail Design Team also keeps growing with strong members in Hull Construction Group’s supports. We are the cluster who have much experiences in hull structure design. Our main job is to make and modify detailed drawing of ship’s hull structure. Besides we also work on other types of drawings such as: Sub Plan, Welding Length, Assembly Plan, Calculate Paint Area, Weight and Center of Gravity, Welding leg length…
In addition, we intent to expand our job menu, not only detail drawing for ship but also detail design for other field in relation to engineering aspects.
We believe that our products can satisfy our customers. This will always be the goal and philosophy of our team.
How to evaluate a company at the first time?
My opinion is to look at the customers they have partnered with.
IEMV has long years of experience working with leading Japanese shipyards -IEMV has been working with the best performance ever.
Our work values are always base on the Corporate Philosophy and Guidelines of Behavior, we are not only thinking about how to bring the best benefits to our direct customers, but also to their customers’ advantage. We always aim for a “Win - Win situation” as I may say.
I have been working here since 2007 and I witnessed how Hull Material Groups’ work directly affected the profitability of the shipyard. Therefore, as a lesson learned, finishing the tasks promptly with a tight schedule is tough but rewarding. Stringent consideration to quality have always been a challenge in my group as well. Admittedly, by adopting the IEMVway, we are gradually improve ourselves and the whole group as well.
Nesting Job is the final stage in the ship design process prior to the sending of NC cutting data to Cutting Workshop. All the mistakes, even the smallest ones, directly cause unnecessary cost and unfavorable working environment. Honestly speaking, Nesting Job is not so difficult, but each shipyard has their own rules which we have to follow. It is easy to make careless mistakes. To think that careless mistakes are unavoidable because we are human and not a machine, this weakness would never be mitigated. So our mindset would never allow us to make careless mistakes at all. For this reason, we can avoid making the same mistakes. As far as I’m concern, the most important aspect of my job is how I am able to lead a competent working team while accomplishing the company’s objective.
Syuzai team was established in 2012 and from that time on, our team saw its development. Although the team has barely 3 members, our predominant job is to determine the size of steel material to be purchased for hull structure of ships. Our mission is to supply to JMU corporation and other customers with high quality products and best services. Fortunately, we are informed about a good reputation that our scrap ratio is better than their expectation. We hope to contribute to our customers as much as possible in order to make IEMV become one of the best ship design company in the world. Good policy and continuous improvement will make all staffs ecstatic and that they can contribute more for the company. We all believe that IEMV can excel to the highest and constantly contribute for the benefit of its stakeholders.
After graduating from Viet Nam Maritime University in 2007, I entered and started working for FEA jobs. Since then, we have carried out many kinds of FEA jobs for ship strength. Besides, our team often deal with Rules calculations, Local strength calculations…not only for ships but also Offshore constructions (FSO, SEP, …). By calculating the structural stability and durability of various types of ships, we have contributed effectively to the design and construction process of JMU. However, to fulfill the dream of becoming an expert in structural analysis, there are lots of knowledge that we need to learn and IEMV always gives us opportunities for research and development. In addition to creating good conditions for each employee to develop their careers, IEMV also takes care of the employees' lives through annual meaningful activities. For all of the above reasons, I continue to work and devote to IEMV and together we try to make IEMV become a leading ship design company in the world.
